Why can't my Residents log into the Resident Portal?


Instruction

When someone is having trouble using the portal these are the steps to troubleshoot it:

1) Find out if that user has ever logged into the portal (usually only an administrator has rights to check this)
..........Admin > Users. Change the filter to Residents. Look for your resident's name.
..........If he has ever logged in, he will be there. Copy down his User ID.

2) Verify that you have the correct email address in his resident screen.

3) If he HAS logged into the portal before:
.........Go to the portal website. Click "Forgot Password".
.........It will ask for his User ID. Then click Send Reset Password Email.
.........Let your resident know to expect an email to reset his password.
.........(Sometimes the problem is they are using a bad User ID).

4) If he has NOT ever logged into the portal:
.........Go to the portal website. Click "Register"
.........Enter his Email address and Unit number. Click Send Registration Email

NOTE: You can not have two residents in different units with the same email address and have the portal work for both of them. ResMan identifies these people by their email address + Unit number.
